Brief History of Tourism.

Tourism as a notion has existed for thousands of years, with the concept of travelling to distant regions for pleasure existing in Ancient Egyptian, Greek, and Roman civilizations. Of fact, long-distance travel was difficult in the past because most people travelled on horseback or in boats.

Tourism was initially a pursuit for society's most wealthy and powerful. As the centuries passed, this gradually began to shift. Modern tourism, on the other hand, is sometimes linked back to the Industrial Revolution, with British society being among the first to genuinely embrace the idea of regular people travelling for leisure.

Today, the concept of tourism is deeply embedded in many cultures. Countries frequently promote this concept, with tourism implying more tourists and revenue.
